My father is a businessman and we are having our own transportation trucks. He had lot of aspirations from me and since childhood, he called me “transporter” and took me to his office whenever I had summer or winter holidays. He used to give me bill books and introduced me to employees of the company. But the truth was that I used to go with him in order to see the trucks and have fun time. But as I grew up, my father wanted I for joining traditional family business and I joined it for quite some time.
I was unhappy from inside and thought that it was not my interest and matching my passion. I was silent for some time and then my mom came to me one day and asked me to tell everything. Then I finally decided to tell my mom that I wanted to be an IT engineer and look at the business part-time only. I did not have the courage to face my father and tell him the truth. My mother gave me the best and real advice that time in life and she told me to be confident and talk to father about your dreams and aspirations. Though I had given all my hope but with courage, I went to his office to meet him personally. He was little upset but I am happy that I told the truth and did not hide anything which could have been an issue after sometime. At the end of this conversation, I was feeling like a free bird that conquered the fear of river rafting and promised my brother to visit this place again in future. The lesson I got is that unless you feel it and face it, you cannot rise above fear. All could not have been possible if I had not taken the advice of my mother to visit my father and told him the truth about my passion for computer. It could have been a different story if my mother did not gave me the advice that day. Today is just another day when I am networking engineer in multinational company.
My advice to all people is that to engage yourselves to be bold and live life to be happy and follow your interests.
